One-of-a-kind pieces for special occasions. Crafted by hand in our Fort Lauderdale studio.

Shirley trained as a couture dressmaker, completing her design studies in 1987 under a master dressmaker who taught her that fit isn’t a measurement — it’s a relationship between fabric and the body wearing it.
That training shows up in structure, drape, and precision tailoring: skills she’s spent more than three decades refining across custom garments, resort wear, and the kind of alterations most studios won’t attempt.
But ask anyone who’s commissioned a piece from her, and they’ll tell you the measuring tape comes out last. Shirley listens first — to how you move, what you’re celebrating, who you’re becoming. She isn’t just making a garment. She’s making the experience of being understood, then dressed for it.
Years lived near the ocean, surrounded by tropical color, shaped the way Shirley sees. The pink and orange of dawn, the deep blue of open water, the violet of dusk — these aren’t metaphors. They’re the actual hues of her early morning runs and the sunsets in her own backyard, carried straight into the ChichiLuna palette.
Every piece begins the same way: a spark, caught in a drawing or a photograph, then carried back to the studio to become something wearable. She calls the ritual her “meditations in movement.”

Once an image earns its place, it’s reworked digitally until it’s right — and that becomes the print. Some fabrics are digitally printed; others are screen printed entirely by hand, a process where no two pieces turn out quite the same. A finishing touch, like an appliqué, may follow.

The intention behind every piece is simple: that you feel the way Shirley felt while making it — special, modern, feminine, carefree.
Natural fibers, small-batch production, and a thoughtful approach to making — each piece created to feel special, not just worn or placed.
The Materials
Every fabric choice is intentional — selected for how it wears, how it lasts, and what it asks of the earth.
Silk
Biodegradable and remarkably durable — well suited to a piece meant to last.
Bamboo
Bamboo isn’t a perfect material on its own, but ChichiLuna’s source is a member of the Better Cotton Initiative, the world’s leading program for responsible cotton.
Linen
Made from the flax plant, naturally moth-resistant and one of the most biodegradable fabrics in fashion’s history.
Inks & Dyes
Digital prints use low-impact, fiber-reactive dyes with no harmful VOC emissions. Hand screen printing uses only water-based inks — gentle enough to rinse clean with ordinary water.

Beyond the Studio
Fabric scraps don’t go to waste. They’re passed to local seamstresses, who turn them into quilts, blankets, and other small comforts — sent on to communities in Central America and Cuba, where these simple things are hard to come by.
Every ChichiLuna piece is made once, for one person.
If you’re drawn to a custom design rooted in color, place, and your own story — made by hand in Fort Lauderdale — the next step is a conversation.
